Graduate Certificate in New Media Composing and Teaching

This certificate allows TCU graduate students to document their use of new media for teaching, scholarship and service. No specific workshops or courses are required. Students may work on the certificate throughout their graduate program. To earn this certificate students must complete 10 hours of Professional development in new media composing. Students may attend workshops sponsored by the Center for Digital Expression or other programs that provide opportunities to develop new media composing or teaching skills. Students may also work on their skills independently.

Graduate Certificate in Women and Gender Studies

A Certificate in Women and Gender Studies is available on the M.A., M. Ed., Ed. D., and Ph.D. degrees in Art History, Biblical Interpretation, Dance, Education, English, History, Pastoral Theology, Pastoral Care, and Social Work. The Certificate recognizes a student’s intensive investigation of issues related to women, gender, and sexuality in the context of their regular disciplinary graduate work.

Graduate Certificate in Comparative Race and Ethnic Studies

A Graduate Certificate in Comparative Race and Ethnic Studies (CRES) is available to TCU graduate students as a supplement to existing master’s and doctoral degrees programs. Comparative Race and Ethnic Studies (CRES) critically examines race and ethnicity as an essential step in becoming ethical citizens and leaders in today’s global community. It is an academic and community-oriented program that values respect, inclusiveness, creative expression, dialogue, engagement, inquiry, and academic excellence.  The certificate recognizes a student’s intensive engagement with issues in Race and Ethnic Studies in the context of her/his regular disciplinary graduate work. A Graduate Certificate in CRES signifies a TCU graduate student has adequately demonstrated a commitment to the CRES program’s mission and demonstrated competencies in its learning outcomes. Students may also add a supplemental Concentration in Research and/or Pedagogy.
