Stipends To Attract Remarkable Students (STARS) Program
STARS is an opportunity to enhance stipends offered to exceptional applicants pursuing terminal degrees in their field of study. Incoming doctoral or Master of Fine Arts (MFA) students can receive $6,000 per year for three years for doctoral degrees and two years for MFA degrees in addition to their TA, RA, or GA stipends.
STARS nominees are considered based on how the student will add significantly to the quality and diversity of the graduate program’s learning environment. Prospective recipients’ academic preparation and backgrounds are considered beyond just test scores and GPA.
Students will be informed of their STARS status shortly after their acceptance to the program. STARS recipients must be in good academic standing to continue receiving the stipend.
