Graduate Teaching Assistant Fall 2026
The Schieffer Media Insights Lab is an innovative teaching and research space for analysis of online conversations in TCU’s Bob Schieffer College of Communication. The lab leverages industry-leading social media listening platforms through partnerships with Brandwatch and Sprinklr for AI-powered collection, evaluation and visualization of big data while iMotions’ innovative tools measure effects of online media on audiences’ sentiment through facial expression analysis.
The Lab seeks a graduate student to work as a graduate lab assistant for fall 2025. In this role, the graduate lab assistant will work to increase access to and promote the use of the Lab’s various AI and digital media tools for research and creative activities across the Bob Schieffer College of Communication. Working with the Director of the Schieffer Media Insights Lab, the graduate lab assistant will help facilitate the Lab’s work with faculty, staff, and students in various ways, including but not limited to:
- Creating and curating content for the Lab’s website to showcase tools and their use in research and creative activities across the college and university;
- Writing and creating training material for the Lab;
- Monitoring and maintaining access to Lab tools;
- Responding to requests for assistance, and/or
- Holding open Lab hours (in-person or virtually) to provide introductions, training, and troubleshooting for users.
The graduate student assistant will work closely with the director to determine which roles they can best fill and will receive direct training on the Lab’s procedures and tools.
Compensation/Work Schedule
- This is a 16-week appointment starting August 18, 2025, with a 20-hour work week
- Compensation includes 9 hours of TCU graduate tuition reimbursement (not to exceed $2,210 / per credit hour) and a $8,500 stipend to be paid out in the form of a payroll check on a bi-weekly basis.

- Renewal for the spring 2026 semester is contingent upon the completion and performance evaluation of the fall appointment
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a full-time graduate student at TCU
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and to complete online training modules to learn how to use the digital tools of the Schieffer Insights Lab
- Ability to collaborate effectively with staff and students
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Willingness to learn other software and platforms
